Il primo è Roberto Stella, presidente dell’Ordine dei medici di Varese, deceduto l’11 marzo. L’ultimo è il numero 198: Luciano Bellan, medico di medicina generale scomparso ieri, 18 novembre. Filippo Anelli, presidente della Federazione dell’Ordine dei medici, commenta così, con una citazione di Giuseppe Ungaretti, la spoon river digitale sul sito: «I morti non fanno rumore, non fanno più rumore del crescere dell’erba».
Medici e infermieri sono in trincea dai primi giorni di diffusione del Covid, ma i numeri che li riguardano crescono in modo impressionante, con un picco negli ultimi giorni. Da metà febbraio a oggi, il totale dei contagiati è di 58.950. Gli infermieri sono il 45,7 per cento. «La cosa ancora più preoccupante — spiega Antonio Di Palma, presidente del sindacato degli infermieri Nursing Up — è che negli ultimi 30 giorni sono stati rilevati 22.517 operatori sanitari infetti, 11 mila dei quali infermieri. Quindi il 40% si è infettato negli ultimi 30 giorni». Altri dati che fanno capire l’entità del fenomeno: la media è di 500 infermieri contagiati al giorno. Di Palma calcola che la media di contagi è del 4% del personale, con picchi del 12, «mentre in Cina nei momenti peggiori hanno raggiunto il 3,8 e mentre l’Oms prevede che, durante una pandemia, sia di poco superiore a zero».
Se nella prima fase era la carenza di dispositivi di protezione individuale a mettere a rischio il personale, ora la situazione è diversa, ma i contagi aumentano ugualmente. A dispetto dei negazionisti. Michele Grio, direttore della rianimazione all’ospedale di Rivoli (Torino), giorni fa aveva invitato chi diffidava a fare un giro in corsia. Ora annuncia: ho il Covid.
Prosegue Anelli: «La situazione è drammatica e peggiora giorno dopo giorno. Tra i più colpiti ci sono anestesisti e pneumologi. Ma soprattutto i medici di famiglia, che sono quasi il 50 per cento dei medici deceduti». Il modello è obsoleto, spiega Anelli, «siamo fermi ai medici condotti. Servirebbero più Usca, le unità che vanno a domicilio. Ma devono fare supporto ai medici di base, non fare tamponi». Poi chiede più medici e un aiuto, quando non c’è più niente da fare: «Chiediamo indennizzi per le famiglie dei 200 medici deceduti. E la cancellazione delle azioni legali, assurde in assenza di certezze scientifiche».
Per gli infermieri va quasi peggio. Per Nicola Draoli, del sindacato degli infermieri Fnopi, «il personale è insufficiente e c’è un’enorme pressione psicologica». Problema ancora più grave nelle Rsa, dove gli infermieri sono pagati poco e non sufficientemente preparati.
Di Palma chiede più considerazione: «Gli infermieri non sono coinvolti nell’organizzazione e vengono trattati come cento anni fa». Ma serve più personale: «Quei pochi che ci sono li facciamo scappare in Germania e Gran Bretagna, dove prendono mille euro in più. L’altro problema sono le assunzioni a tempo indeterminato: si fanno quasi solo a tempo. Ed è assurda la barriera tra le regioni. La Lombardia non può attingere ai 3.000 infermieri in graduatoria che hanno fatto un concorso nel Lazio. Perché?».
