Gli stanziamenti per le disinfestazioni di topi e zanzare a Treviso sono diminuiti del 50 per cento in pochi anni, in modo progressivo e inarrestabile. I prodotti chimici, solitamente più efficaci, sono stati banditi per non essere nocivi per l’uomo. Non si interviene più a tappeto ma su segnalazione e in aree circoscritte ai siti più sensibili.
E a tutto questo si aggiunge il fatto che i trevigiani non hanno ancora imparato le modalità della raccolta differenziata, e lasciano i bidoni nelle aree esterne anche dopo il momento della raccolta, spesso senza lavarli. Non è ancora un’emergenza, ma potrebbe diventarlo, di giorno e soprattutto di notte.
I commercianti si lamentano, le bestie che girano per le strade non sono solo fastidiose ma anche potenzialmente pericolose per igiene e salute, con l’estate le segnalazioni sono tornate a farsi sentire e Ca’ Sugana è pronta a lanciare una campagna informativa per tentare di arginare fenomeno e polemiche: «La lotta chimica va considerata residuale, l’ultimo passaggio dopo il buon comportamento di tutti – spiega l’assessore Luciano Franchin -. Questi animali proliferano dove trovano acqua, cibo e riparo. Dobbiamo evitare che li trovino a disposizione. Vivono in modo subalterno all’uomo, per questo sono i cittadini che devono modificare i loro comportamenti, ritirare i bidoni invece di lasciarli in strada e lavarli dopo lo svuotamento. Avvieremo quanto prima, reperendo anche delle risorse, una campagna di informazione». Per il momento, Franchin non vuole parlare di sanzioni: «Chi non segue le regole si trova già i colombi sul tetto e i topi in casa, è questa la sanzione».
Perché anche con i colombi il problema è simile e non di meno preoccupante: i ristoratori e non solo loro sbattono le tovaglie in piazza, nutrendo i volatili ogni giorno. Così liberarsene diventa impossibile.
L’ufficio ambiente è già intervenuto nelle adiacenze dei cantieri e vicino alle scuole, siti ritenuti sensibili, per sconfiggere i topi con azioni puntuali. Fino a cinque anni fa c’erano tremila trappole attive (o meglio, alimentatori di esca) distribuite in tutto il capoluogo che venivano riempite mensilmente. Da qualche anno venivano caricate a rotazione e quest’anno l’Usl ha dato indicazioni diverse: si caricano le trappole solo nelle zone in cui viene segnalata la presenza di topi, tornando a verificare qualche giorno dopo. Quando i risultati positivi il sito non è più monitorato.
Capitolo zanzare: dei 24 mila tombini in città, solo 2.200 sono stati dotati di zanzariere, meno del 10%, con un ritardo sulla tabella di marcia di almeno mille. Il Comune ha sospeso le disinfestazioni a tappeto in parchi e giardini, avviando invece una campagna sulle larve e con un prodotto bio negli scoli, meno dannoso per l’uomo e l’ambiente di quelli chimici. «Sta funzionando – assicurano a Ca’ Sugana -, lo usiamo da due anni». Una ventina d’anni fa si spendevano 90 milioni di lire, a Treviso, per la pillola anticoncezionale ai colombi. Poi la cifra si è trasformata in euro e con lo stesso fondo bisognava sconfiggere la zanzara tigre e i topi.
Ora, ridotti i fondi e tolta la chimica, la palla è in mano ai cittadini: tenere la città, le strade e i tombini puliti riduce anche gli animali infestanti.
