È ora disponibile la relazione sui risultati del seminario sulla dermatite nodulare organizzato dall’EFSA e dalla Commissione europea nel maggio 2016. Questa fornisce una panoramica delle più recenti conoscenze disponibili in materia di epidemiologia, diagnostica e controllo della dermatite nodulare contagiosa.Si tratta di una malattia con ripercussioni negative sull’economia che colpisce i bovini mediante trasmissione da insetti vettori (quali zanzare, mosche e zecche) e che si sta rapidamente diffondendo nell’Europa sudorientale.
Più di 40 esperti provenienti da tutta l’Unione europea e da altri paesi hanno partecipato a questo seminario.
I risultati del seminario contribuiscono a colmare le lacune in termini di conoscenze, sensibilizzare in merito alla dermatite nodulare contagiosa e a rafforzare la cooperazione tra i paesi relativamente alla prevenzione e al controllo di questa malattia.
Gli esperti dell’EFSA stanno attualmente valutando l’efficacia di diverse misure al fine di controllarne la diffusione ed entro il 31 luglio 2016 formuleranno un parere scientifico.
