È stato condannato a 26 anni di carcere il falegname Antonio Contini, 62 anni di Isili, accusato dell’omicidio di Pier Angelo Spanu, il veterinario di Gergei ucciso il 21 aprile dell’anno scorso nella sua casa di Isili con due fucilate a pallettoni. Dopo la lunga arringa del difensore Gianfranco Sollai, i giudici della Corte d’Assise di Cagliari hanno accolto le richieste di condanna del procuratore aggiunto Gilberto Ganassi. Secondo l’accusa il delitto sarebbe stato consumato per diverbi legati ad un movente passionale. Contini, presente al momento della lettura della sentenza nell’aula della Corte – presidente Claudio Gatti, a latere Ermendarda Ferrarese e i giudici popolari – ha accolto il verdetto senza scomporsi, ma proclamando ancora una volta la sua innocenza. In lacrime la madre della vittima, mentre i parenti del presunto omicida hanno parlato di un processo solo indiziario.
