IERI IL VERTICE A ROMA Confronto tra la Regione e il ministro della Salute Fazio Prima verifica sull’unità di crisi per il virus che colpisce gli equini Ieri il vertice a Roma tra l’assessore alla Sanità e il ministro della Salute per fare il punto sull’emergenza dei virus che stanno colpendo la Sardegna.
Lo sguardo è puntato sulla febbre del Nilo, ma fa paura anche l’emergenza peste suina. L’assessore alla Sanità Simona De Francisci ha incontrato ieri il ministro della Salute Ferruccio Fazio per fare il punto sull’emergenza che sta colpendo le campagne e gli allevamenti dell’Isola. «E stato un confronto chiarificatore, dobbiamo subito rimboccarci le maniche. Faremo di nuovo il punto il 5 ottobre». La febbre del Nilo comincia a far paura. «Il ministro ha voluto conoscere nel dettaglio il lavoro dell’unità di crisi e ha condiviso le misure di prevenzione, d’informazione e di sorveglianza che stiamo portando avanti». Quali sono i timori per l’uomo? «Non possiamo escludere collegamenti tra il virus e l’uomo, pertanto ribadiamo il concetto che bisogna seguire tutte le più classiche norme igieniche e sanitarie, soprattutto nelle aree di campagna dove sono presenti cavalli».
Cosa prevede il piano d’interventi? «Stiamo agendo con gli antivirali biologici per non compromettere gli equilibri delle campagne». C’è il rischio che l’epidemia dilaghi? «La previsione è che l’abbassamento delle temperature ci darà una grossa mano, perché scompariranno tante zanzare, che trasportano il virus». Si è parlato anche di peste suina? «Si, e penso che questa sia la nota più dolente». Perché? «Perché è venuto fuori quasi un aut aut per la Sardegna. Il ministro ci ha chiesto di prendere provvedimenti, altrimenti si arriverà all’isolamento». Di che tipo? «Sarà un provvedimento drastico, verrà bloccato il trasporto di tutte le carni suine dall’Isola. Per questo chiediamo agli allevatori di rimboccarsi le maniche». Cosa devono fare? «Si deve lasciare perdere una volta per tutte il pascolo brado. Servono allevamenti controllati e certificati. Le grandi industrie di trasformazione del Nord sono in pressione sul Governo perché non vogliono più problemi con la peste». E un problema solo sardo? «No, riguarda anche la Campania e la Calabria e ora verranno imposti a tutti interventi radicali».
Ma gli allevatori devono fare tutto da soli? «La Regione sarà accanto a loro e anche il ministro si è detto pronto a sostenere la lotta a questo flagello. Ma è una battaglia che dobbiamo combattere nell’Isola tutti insieme. Non possiamo correre il rischio che a Roma ci facciano un’entrata a gamba tesa». E chiudano a chiave le esportazioni dal’Isola. «Lancio un appello agli allevatori. Aiutateci a sconfiggere una volta per tutte la peste. Solamente così potremo rilanciare la filiera della produzione suina».
